About

I love creating!  My brain always seems to be working on something and the thrill of successfully interpreting an idea into art is what makes this journey a fulfilling one.

My creative journey has taken different paths along the way.  I started quilting in the mid 1990s and it wasn’t long before I decided that traditional quilting wasn’t quite my thing. When I discovered art quilting and mixed media work, I was very intrigued and started learning all I could and trying out all kinds of techniques. Art quilting became my passion and I continue to create art quilts today.

Along with creating art quilts, I also enjoy the following creative activities:

  • Traditional quilting
  • Sewing unique, one-of-a-kind quilted handbags and totes
  • Weaving — hand towels, scarves, table runners
  • Painting
  • Designing — stencils and Thermofax screens
  • Surface design on fabric
  • Dyeing — fabric, wool fiber, and yarn
  • Spinning

On a personal note…I am happily married to a wonderfully supportive husband, I have a son and daughter-in-law, and two grandchildren.  I am from Mandan, North Dakota and live on a 10-acre spot of land where I love to garden, bird watch, and receive constant inspiration from the antics of my cats.
